Job summary

Intertek in Plymouth, Michigan seeks an experienced Field Testing Technician to join its Building Science Solutions team. You will support field testing projects, perform building envelope inspections, and conduct forensic investigations of enclosure failures, with focus on walls, curtain walls, windows, doors, and waterproofing.

The role requires a high school diploma and 5+ years in commercial construction, with ability to work from elevated platforms and reliable daily travel to local sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in commercial construction, exterior building envelope experience.
• Ability to work from elevated platforms and travel daily to local sites.

Responsibilities

• Field testing projects as assigned.
• Forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate with project team regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting.
• Prepare and submit accurate and concise reports on all projects assigned.
• Provide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Maintain consistent and professional interaction with clients and project team.
