Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, building envelope, or fenestration.
• Ability to learn the building envelope, including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, roofing, etc., and their installation methods.
• Working knowledge of test methods and standards associated with testing of these systems or the ability to learn and comprehend these standards.
• Aptitude for working independently and leading a crew on assigned projects.
• Technical competency and ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers, both in writing and orally.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain good rapport with clients and subcontractors.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet changing priorities and strict deadlines.
• Good computer skills – Microsoft Office & Outlook.
• Ability to work from ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc.
• Routinely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull as needed.
• Willingness to travel (locally and/or overnight) 75% of the time or more.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead field testing projects, collect data, and write reports.
• Set up testing, including rough carpentry work to construct test chambers.
• Operate equipment in the interior of buildings and work with customers while testing occurs.
• Operate high‑reach lift equipment (boom lifts, supported and suspended scaffolding).
• Assist with forensic investigations of building envelope failures (isolation work on exterior).
• Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations and test preparation on all projects assigned.
• Provide project planning upon arrival for needed elements such as water, electricity, and access by communicating with clients and team.
• Travel with overnight stays (company covers all travel expenses and per diem).
• Perform physical work relevant to areas of responsibility as assigned.
