Job summary

Intertek in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a Field Testing Technician II to lead field testing projects within our Building and Construction team. This role trains in-house on project management, data collection and report writing while traveling to job sites with a company vehicle.

You will supervise a crew, set up test chambers, operate testing equipment, and coordinate with clients and project teams. Overnight travel and occasional second shifts are expected; a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years in commercial construction, building envelope or fenestration.
• Ability to learn building envelope systems and test methods.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ and lead a crew independently.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead field testing projects, data collection and report writing.
• Set up testing including rough carpentry to build test chambers.
• Operate equipment and coordinate with clients during testing.
• Travel to job sites and manage on-site logistics.
