Caterpillar Inc. in Griffin, GA is seeking a Test & Validation Senior Associate Technologist within the Electric Power Division to lead on-site testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of large engine packages powering data centers.

This field-based role requires extensive travel (80% annually) across the U.S. and Canada, collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers, and a focus on reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site testing, validation, and commissioning of large engine packages for data center backup power.
• Analyze test data, document findings, and drive issue closure from field validation activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and package issues at customer sites.
• Use Caterpillar ET and test equipment to diagnose, collect data, and validate corrections.
• Ensure designs and manufacturing readiness meet acceptance criteria.
• Support engine startup and commissioning across field locations in the U.S. and Canada.
• Monitor performance, results and reliability trends; advise improvements.
• Adopt new testing technologies to improve efficiency, quality and cost.
• Refine testing procedures to enhance reliability and throughput.
• Collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers and project leaders to close field issues.
• Represent Caterpillar on-site with professional, customer-focused communication.
