Caterpillar is seeking a Technologist - Test/Validation to join the Test Data Systems team in Mossville, Illinois. You will lead test automation, data acquisition, and interface development for engine development labs, collaborating with global teams to deliver high-quality testing solutions.

The role requires hands-on laboratory experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to work with customers, suppliers, and peers to advance automation and reliability across Caterpillar power systems.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of laboratory experience preferred for initial hiring.
• Experience applying automation within a test facility or laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with engine laboratory operations and testing processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Organize testing activities supporting Power Systems development and validation.
• Support test-cell operations and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Deploy new requirements, features, and bug fixes in the automation platform.
• Create and maintain applications/interfaces using VB, Morphee, and Python.
• Lead software deployment and synchronize activities across lab cells.
• Gather requirements and improve testing, validation, and automation processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to support project delivery.
• Maintain data governance and document standard processes.
