Job summary

DPR Construction in the Richmond area is seeking a Field Technology Technician to support construction operations with layout verification, data capture, and reporting. You will use LiDAR and total stations to collect and verify field data, contributing to project accuracy and productivity.

Responsibilities include setting up calibration, reviewing data for discrepancies, maintaining equipment, and guiding less experienced technicians on proper tool usage and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• 2–4 years of experience in field technology, construction layout, or a related field required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs layout verification, LiDAR scanning, and digital data collection to support construction accuracy and documentation.
• Sets up, calibrates, and operates total stations, scanners, and other field technology instruments in accordance with project specifications.
• Processes and reviews scan or layout data to identify discrepancies and communicates findings to field teams.
• Maintains equipment inventory, conducts regular inspections, and reports service or maintenance needs.
• Supports implementation of field technology workflows on job sites to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Provides basic training and guidance to less experienced technicians on proper tool usage and safety protocols.
