Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum (1) year field experience with SUE preferred; equivalent education/experience may be substituted.
• Knowledge of municipal construction, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure.
• Knowledge of laws, ordinances, standards, and regulations pertaining to the duties of the position.
• Understanding occupational hazards and safety precautions required to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist SUE Crew Chief in underground utility location, designation, and excavation tasks.
• Load, unload, and maintain SUE equipment daily.
• Safely excavate to expose subsurface utilities using hand tools and vacuum excavation technologies.
• Provide accurate measurements for utilities in project limits.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built drawings, and highway design plans.
• Record and deliver field data to the office with accurate documentation.
