Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Utility Locator or SUE Technician with 3–5 years of proven field experience. You will locate underground utilities, interpret maps, and operate GPR and electromagnetic locators while following safety protocols.

The role requires outdoor work across varied terrains and occasional overnight travel. You will maintain precise records, support equipment maintenance, and collaborate with a field crew to ensure quality and safety on projects in Pensacola and surrounding

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years proven experience as a utility locator or SUE Technician.
• Experience with total stations, GPS, SUE locating equipment, and vacuum excavation equipment.
• Ability to interpret maps and records of underground utilities.
• Walks outdoors long periods in varied terrain and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Utilize maps, records, and other resources to accurately locate underground utility lines.
• Operate SUE field equipment and geophysical tools following safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of locations and updates.
• Conduct inspections to identify hazards or issues and report findings.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and worksites.
