Job summary

AMH is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to service our single-family rental properties. You will perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation and preventive maintenance to keep homes functional and safe.

Responsibilities include fixing water heaters and plumbing, carpentry, drywall, roofing, HVAC tune-ups, and coordinating with vendors and tenants. A valid driver’s license and OSHA awareness are required; EPA/HVAC certifications are needed where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; technical training or an Associate degree is a plus.
• Minimum two years in Residential/Property Maintenance; five years if no degree.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Familiar with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with Apple iPad and HVAC preferred.
• EPA Certification or HVAC Type II required in applicable states.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety methods and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform home repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform tune-ups.
• Maintain all equipment in clean, safe, and functional condition.
• Update mobile work orders from the maintenance center within timeframes.
• Interact with vendors and tenants regularly.
