Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, LP is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and upkeep at AMH properties, ensuring safe, functional homes and a clean, safe work environment.

This role requires hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC tasks, a valid driver's license, OSHA knowledge, and EPA/HVAC certification where applicable. You will coordinate with vendors and residents to complete tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; Associate degree or technical training a plus.
• Minimum two years in residential/property maintenance or five years if no formal education.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
• HVAC experience and EPA/Type II certification preferred where applicable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot water heaters, plumbing, garage doors, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform home repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing tasks.
• Ensure HVAC systems operate correctly and conduct tune-ups.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Update mobile work orders from the maintenance center within deadlines.
• Coordinate with vendors and tenants as needed.
