Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to service AMH properties. You will perform repairs, installations, and routine maintenance to ensure homes remain safe and functional. Strong focus on safety, communication, and timely updates of work orders.

The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks, plus the ability to lift heavy loads and operate a vehicle. A valid license and EPA HVAC certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of Residential/Property Maintenance experience required; 5 years if no degree.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• EPA HVAC Type II/Universal certification required in applicable states.
• Familiarity with basic hand/power tools and safety protocols (OSHA).
• Experience with Apple iPad and Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot water heaters, plumbing, garage doors, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing repairs as needed.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and conduct tune-ups.
• Keep equipment clean, organized, and functional.
• Update work orders from the maintenance center within deadlines.
• Coordinate with vendors and tenants regularly.
