Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Utility Field Technician to collect information and document overhead power-distribution infrastructure across Southern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky. This field-based role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, travel, and independent management of daily tasks.

The position requires a high school diploma, the ability to navigate rural terrain, and reliable transportation. You will use maps, GIS tools, and mobile data-collection apps to record, photograph, and report

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in utilities or field data collection preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail for documenting field conditions.
• Comfort using mobile devices, maps, and data-collection apps.
• Ability to read maps and follow routes in rural locations.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation with valid license and insurance.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving-record checks.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of overhead power-distribution facilities.
• Locate, inspect, photograph, measure, and document poles, lines, transformers, and attachments.
• Record pole conditions, equipment information, and surrounding field conditions.
• Use maps, GIS-based apps, and data-collection tools to document information.
• Upload photographs, measurements, field notes, and project data.
• Plan daily routes and manage work across the designated field area.
• Communicate field conditions with project teams and management.
• Follow safety requirements and perform related duties as assigned.
