Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Utility Field Technician to collect information and document overhead power-distribution infrastructure across central and southern Alabama. This field-based role requires travel, strong self-management, and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities include locating, inspecting, photographing, measuring, and recording pole and equipment details using GIS and mobile data tools, with data uploaded to project databases and daily route

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior utility, field data collection, GIS, or surveying experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of overhead power-distribution facilities.
• Locate, inspect, photograph, measure, and document poles and related infrastructure.
• Use GIS-based tools and mobile devices to collect and upload data.
• Plan routes and manage daily field assignments.
• Follow safety requirements and company policies.
