Job summary

Boyd Company is seeking a skilled field technician to perform repairs on CAT and allied equipment at customer sites or in the company shop. You will diagnose issues, read blueprints, and complete service reports while maintaining a clean, well-organized service truck.

This role may involve overtime and overnight travel, with a company service truck provided and DOT regulations observed. A high school diploma and valid CDL are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate technical, mechanical and troubleshooting abilities to perform maintenance and repairs on CAT and allied equipment without supervision.
• Valid commercial driver's license and ability to operate service trucks under DOT regulations.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend technical service manuals.
• Ability to use micrometer and other testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs to CAT and allied machinery at customer sites or shop with high quality.
• Operates equipment to diagnose problems before repairs and tests after completion.
• Lifts parts weighing up to 50 pounds solo or with assistance; uses material handling equipment as needed.
• Reads blueprints and service manuals; documents time and signs off on reports.
• Maintains DOT Hours of Service compliance and a safe work environment.
• Keeps service truck clean, maintained and compliant with company rules.
• May require overtime and overnight stays near jobsite; performs other duties as needed.
