Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Field Technician in Marshall, MI to support landfill gas systems. You will analyze well data, perform pump maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations across multiple sites in the Great Lakes region.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, data collection, and the ability to read landfill gas data from wells, SEMs, and probes, with company-provided truck and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical maintenance skills for pumps and equipment.
• Experience in landfill gas operations or environmental field work is preferred.
• Ability to read, tune, and interpret landfill gas data from wells, SEMs, and probes.
• Proficient in data entry and data collection for environmental field measurements.
• Understanding of environmental testing and field sampling procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Commitment to safety procedures and working in field conditions.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Great Lakes landfill sites.

Responsibilities

• Analyze landfill well data to support gas collection and control.
• Perform pump maintenance including pulling, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and replacements.
• Conduct gas readings and tuning to optimize performance and compliance.
• Use SEMs and probes to assess gas emissions and system integrity.
• Collect and enter field data with accurate records.
• Support environmental testing and field sampling activities.
• Operate company equipment and travel between sites safely.
• Travel to multiple landfill sites within the Great Lakes region as required.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a people-first culture.
• Collaborate with team members to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
