Actalent is seeking a Landfill Gas Technician to support operations and maintenance of landfill gas systems across multiple sites in the Marshall, MI area. The role emphasizes analyzing well data, maintaining pumps, and ensuring safe, compliant gas collection operations.

Candidates should have mechanical aptitude, experience with landfill gas systems or environmental field work, and the ability to read data from wells, SEMs, and probes. Travel to regional sites is required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance and repair on pumps and related equipment.
• Experience with landfill gas systems or environmental field work.
• Ability to read, tune, and interpret landfill gas data from wells, SEMs, and probes.
• Data collection and entry for environmental or field measurements.
• Knowledge of environmental testing and field sampling practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Great Lakes landfill sites.

Responsibilities

• Analyze landfill well data using an eTools system to support gas collection and control.
• Perform pump maintenance: pulling, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and replacement.
• Conduct gas readings and tuning to optimize performance and ensure compliance.
• Use SEMs and probes to assess emissions and system integrity.
• Collect field data and maintain accurate records of measurements.
• Support environmental testing and field sampling activities.
• Operate company equipment and a company vehicle safely.
• Travel between landfill sites in the Great Lakes region for routine and corrective maintenance.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safety-first culture.
• Collaborate with team to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement actions.
