Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is hiring a Field Services Technician to work primarily in the field on landfill gas collection and control systems, with travel between Raynham, MA and Peabody, MA sites. You will operate, monitor, and maintain gas systems and collect field data.

Role requires mechanical skills, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and extensive outdoor work about 90% of days. PPO safety gear and a valid license are essential; potential for growth and stock ownership

Qualifications

• 0-10 years of experience in a related field
• Mechanical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Ability to work outdoors approximately 90% of each workday
• Ability to walk over steep and rough terrain for considerable distances daily
• Required to wear PPE in accordance with Safety standards
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a pickup truck
• Ability to work independently in the field in varying weather conditions with strict adherence to procedures and safety policies
• High school diploma/GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas migration control/recovery systems
• Collect data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring locations
• Perform wellfield valve/vacuum adjustments, data collection and maintenance
• Interpret data collected in the field
• Assist with small construction projects including pipe and valve installation
• Use PVC or HDPE piping materials and associated equipment to maintain piping systems
• Maintain and operate landfill flares
• Perform pump maintenance
• Provide on-call response to gas collection and control system malfunctions
