Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Senior Field Services Technician to work in the field on landfill gas collection and control systems, with occasional office collaboration in Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA.

The role emphasizes field travel, data collection, and supervising junior technicians. You will lead small projects, operate gas systems, and ensure safety protocols, with compensation and benefits including performance-based bonuses and an employee stock ownership

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a related field.

• Ability to work independently in varied weather with SOP adherence.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Overview

As a Senior Field Services Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be responsible for working on a variety of diverse environmental projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems. The majority of your time will be spent in the field and traveling to and from sites. Your duties will include:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas migration control/recovery systems
• Provide direction to more junior field technicians
• Schedule and coordinate field activities
• Communicate with field teams and clients
• Collect data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring locations
• Perform wellfield valve/vacuum adjustments, data collection and maintenance
• Interpret data collected in the field
• Lead small construction projects including pipe and valve installation
• Use Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping materials and associated equipment to perform maintenance on piping systems
• Maintain and operate landfill flares
• Perform pump maintenance
• Provide on-call response to gas collection and control system related malfunction event(s)

The pay range for this position is between $30/hr and $40/hr. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. may reasonably offer for the role as outlined. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offering.

• Required to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hardhat, safety boots, safety vest, personal multi-gas monitor, etc.) in accordance with company Health and Safety standards
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a pickup truck
• Ability to work independently in the field in varying weather conditions with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety policies
• High school diploma/GED preferred
