Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a diesel mechanic with 4+ years of experience in construction equipment or rental background.

You will troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, service diesel and gas engines, and perform routine maintenance across pumps, HVAC, and power equipment. Applicants should bring tools valued at $10,000+, possess basic computer skills for service orders, and be a self-starter committed to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as diesel mechanic with construction equipment or rental background.
• Proficient troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $10,000+ in value.
• Having mechanic experience working on industrial pumps, power equipment, and HVAC is a plus.
• Having a TWIC or Safety Council OSHA Basic Plus certification is preferred, will need to obtain if not held.
• Basic computer knowledge for service work orders, parts ordering, and service related tasks.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.

Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00PM (Overtime Eligible)
