Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Field Technician III to support maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecom site infrastructure. You will lead a field crew, read detail plans, and ensure safe, high-quality work on complex projects.

This role requires hands-on problem solving, strong communication, and ability to travel. A high school diploma or GED is required; a technical degree is preferred, with 5+ years construction experience desirable.

• Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial applications.
• Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work.
• Review peer work product.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
• You have a high school diploma or a GED; a technical degree is preferred
• 5+ years of general construction experience preferred; some cell tower industry experience is highly preferred
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results-oriented
• Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
• Basic computer knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with AT&T or Verizon Wireless Networks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commissioning and Integration experience required
• Mobile Access Certification is a plus
• Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers, and aerial platform equipment
• Ability to lead crews when the foreman is gone, and have DC/AC electrical skills
• Update equipment office records and installation specifications to document accurately "as built"
• Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity
• Must be adaptable to changing environments
• Must be able to pick up 50 lbs., and be capable of working up to 12 hours
• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively
• Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demand requires
