Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is hiring a Field Technician II to support maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecom site infrastructure. You will work with limited supervision, interpret customer detail plans, and perform hands-on installation and service tasks across industrial settings.

The role emphasizes safety, high-quality workmanship, and strong teamwork. Weekend/nights availability, travel, and physical labor are part of the job, with competitive benefits and company

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general construction experience preferred; some cell tower industry experience highly preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
• High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
• Experience on AT&T or Verizon Wireless Networks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers, and aerial platform equipment
• Ability to lead crews when the foreman is gone, with DC/AC electrical skills
• Must be adaptable to changing environments
• Must be able to pick up 50 lbs. and work up to 12 hours
• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, and be willing to travel extensively

• Prepare drawings of field sketches using AutoCAD


• Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial applications


• Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to fieldwork


• Review peer work product


• Other duties as assigned

• Update equipment office records and installation specifications to document accurate \"as built\"


• Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity


• Must be adaptable to changing environments


• Must be able to pick up 50 lbs. and be capable of working up to 12 hours


• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively


• Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demands

Compensation of $23-$26 per hour, depending on the experience.
