Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Field Technician III to support maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecom site infrastructures. You will lead field crews, read customer plans, and ensure timely, safe execution while upholding OSHA and industry standards.

Heavy emphasis on drawing prep with AutoCAD and site documentation. The role requires 5+ years of construction experience, the ability to travel, and flexibility to work weekends or nights as needed.

Responsibilities

As a Field Technician III, you are responsible for providing support in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

  • Lead a Field Crew

Qualifications

  • You have a high school diploma or a GED; a technical degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of general construction experience preferred; some cell tower industry experience is highly preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results-oriented
  • Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
  • Basic computer knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with AT&T or Verizon Wireless Networks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commissioning and Integration experience required
  • Mobile Access Certification is a plus
  • Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers, and aerial platform equipment
  • Ability to lead crews when the foreman is gone, and have DC/AC electrical skills
  • Update equipment office records and installation specifications to document accurately "as built"
  • Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity
  • Must be adaptable to changing environments
  • Must be able to pick up 50 lbs., and be capable of working up to 12 hours
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively
  • Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demand requires

Compensation of $26-$30 per hour, depending on the experience.
