Job summary

Electric Power Systems in Utah seeks a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increased independence. This role emphasizes safety and quality while supporting more complex field activities.

You will work with engineers and senior technicians, test high/medium/low voltage gear, troubleshoot from schematics, and document work. Travel for field assignments may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required for safety sensitive role.
• Criminal background check required.
• Overtime and travel to out-of-town sites may be required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and PPE use in substation environments.
• Participate in safety training, meetings, and job briefings; identify hazards.
• Support safety culture through hazard reporting and lessons learned.
• Test high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, battery systems, switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals; escalate when needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance; repair/replace components.
• Document testing and maintenance per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities.
• Maintain tools and work areas to compliance with standards.
