Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or related.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or obtainable within a specified time period.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools.
• Mathematical skills to operate with different units and measurements.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills; ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work variable schedules and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials.
• Ensure testing requirements meet project specifications and company policies.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories; maintain sample integrity.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper operation per guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports and submit results to managers and stakeholders.
• Communicate updates with dispatch, field supervisors, and project teams.
• Mentor junior technicians as needed and share field knowledge.
• Follow OSHA, PPE, safety protocols and site safety guidelines.
• Adapt to changing project requirements; may include early mornings or overnight work.
• Operate and maintain the company vehicle; schedule maintenance.
• Travel to job sites within the region; overnight travel may be required.
• Additional duties to support company initiatives.
