Job summary

The City of Euless, TX invites applications for a Field Tech I-II (Meter Reader). Under minimal supervision, you will read water meters, record readings, and assist with related meter maintenance tasks for the municipal utility.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent plus two years of related experience.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Class “D” Water Distribution License, or obtain within one year of employment.
• Communicate in English clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Reads water meters and records readings accurately.
• Completes work orders including turn-offs/turn-ons and installing meters.
• Maintains meter boxes and replaces faulty meters or transponders.
• Locates water meters for coworkers when needed.
• Operates handheld device to read and set up meters.
• Operates a light vehicle and radio; performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Trains new meter readers on routes and meter locations.
• Performs related duties as required.
