Job summary

The City of Rowlett is seeking a Water Meter Reader to support the water utility. This role reads meters to determine consumption, locates buried meters, and performs related duties within a 4-day work week (7:30 am - 5:30 pm).

Qualifications

• Water utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads water meters to determine consumption.
• Locates and uncovers buried meters.
• Shuts off water for non-payment and reconnects service when payment is made.
• Connects new service when necessary and disconnects service when customer moves.
• Runs diagnostics on meters and electronics.
• Keeps a running inventory to insure stock is on hand.
