Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Technician in Newark, OH, with a path to Field Technician 2 after training and OQ completion. The role focuses on installing, repairing, and replacing distribution facilities and operating related construction equipment.

You will work with a residential and commercial customer base, performing equipment maintenance, and fulfilling essential duties in all weather, while building experience through progressive responsibilities and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to use various types of hand tools needed for repair of field facilities.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Ohio operator and commercial driver's license (CDL) and certification to operate company trucks under the DOT/Ohio Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for intrastate drivers within 3 months of being awarded the job.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations, prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, repair and replacement of distribution facilities such as main lines and services.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment and maintain it (cleaning, greasing, lubricating).
• Serve residential and commercial customers and work in diverse weather conditions.
