Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Technician in Jackson, Ohio. The role progresses to Field Technician 2 after two years with required training and Operator Qualifications.

Responsibilities include installation, repair and replacement of distribution facilities and operation of light earth-moving equipment. You will work to serve residential and commercial customers, perform maintenance on equipment, and meet safety and regulatory requirements in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to use various hand tools for repair of field facilities.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Ohio CDL and certification to operate company trucks within 3 months.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments including Attitude, Aptitude, Physical Capability, Drug Screen, MVR and Background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and replace distribution facilities such as main lines and services; maintain construction equipment.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment (backhoe, side boom, tamper, hydra-crane) and perform routine maintenance.
