Job summary

UES seeks a Field Technician I in Orlando, FL to perform on-site inspections, materials testing, and environmental sampling for civil and environmental projects. You will travel to job sites, collect samples, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety guidelines.

The role requires 0–3 years in field-based work, a valid driver's license, and ability to read blueprints. Travel, early mornings, and some weekends may be required, with ongoing training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0–3 years in field-based outdoor or physically demanding role preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to operate company vehicles.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain within specified time.
• Commitment to OSHA standards and PPE safety policies.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Field Data Collection tools.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and technical docs.
• Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail for sampling, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; flexible schedules including travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates to verify specs and standards.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing.
• Maintain testing equipment per guidelines and procedures.
• Document test results and prepare timely reports for project managers.
• Communicate status and site conditions with field supervisors and clients.
• Adhere to project timelines and safety protocols (OSHA, PPE).
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle and scheduling of maintenance.
• Support ongoing training and certification programs as required.
