Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a Field Technician to operate and manage gas migration control/recovery systems in the San Bernardino, CA area. You will monitor wells, troubleshoot, and perform system repairs to keep equipment compliant and running safely.

You will conduct field sampling, calibrate analytical gear, carry out routine maintenance, and record daily logs. The role emphasizes safety, independent work after training, and a company-provided truck and tools.

Qualifications

• No experience is required, however related experience is preferred. Related experience is mechanical, construction, environmental, or solid waste field experience.
• Mechanical or construction knowledge is preferred.
• Must meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of properties, lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs, hand excavation, climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, using hand tools, and working in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain gas collection system on a cost-effective basis to keep systems operating and in compliance with parameters and goals.
• Perform routine wellfield balancing and maintenance.
• Run routine blower and flare operations.
• Conduct surface emissions monitoring.
• Field sample locations including wells, probes, headers, blowers, flares, pumps, etc.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical and monitoring equipment.
• Perform maintenance such as greasing blowers, cleaning tanks, fusing pipe, and repairing pumps.
• Record and communicate data and observations with supervisor and clients.
• Work independently or as part of a team in a safe, productive manner with safety culture in mind.
• Assigned a work truck that includes fuel and maintenance.
