Job summary

SCS Engineers seeks a Field Technician to operate and maintain gas migration control/recovery systems in the Brook, IN area. You will monitor gas wells, troubleshoot, and perform system repairs to keep operations compliant and efficient.

The role includes field sampling, calibrating analytical equipment, recording daily logs, and working independently or in a team within our safety-first culture. A valid drivers license is required.

Qualifications

• Related experience preferred: mechanical, construction, environmental or solid waste field work.
• Mechanical or construction knowledge preferred.
• Must meet physical requirements for driving, lifting up to 50 lbs, ladders, hand tools, and varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain gas collection system to meet parameters and goals.
• Field sampling at wells, probes, headers, blowers, and flares.
• Calibrate and maintain analytical and monitoring equipment.
• Perform maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and repairing components.
• Record daily field logs with observations, actions, and recommended steps.
• Work independently or as part of a team while upholding safety culture.
• Assigned a work truck including fuel and maintenance.

Job description

What we are looking for

A Field Technician operates and manages gas migration control/recovery systems including gas well monitoring and adjustment, troubleshooting, and system repairs. We are looking for a Field Technician to service the Brook, IN area.

How you can make an impact

You will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by:

• Operate and maintain gas collection system on a cost-effective basis to keep systems operating and in compliance with different prescribed operating parameters and goals, including:
  • Routine wellfield balancing and maintenance
  • Routine blower / flare operations
  • Surface emissions monitoring
• Field sampling of different test locations including wells, probes, headers, blowers, flares, pumps, etc.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain various analytical and monitoring equipment.
• Perform maintenance activities such as greasing blowers, cleaning tanks, fusing pipe, and repairing pumps just to name a few.
• Collect and evaluate/interpret scientific data; Communicate observations and technical data verbally and in writing with supervisor and clients.
• Perform work independently or as a team member in a professional, productive and safe manner, adopting the principles of SCS' safety culture.
• Understand and follow regulatory requirements related to the work.
• Record and maintain daily field logs reporting data collected, field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions to be taken.
• Work independently after training is completed
• Assigned a work truck that includes fuel and maintenance

Qualifications

• No experience is required, however related experience is preferred. Related experience is mechanical, construction, environmental, or solid waste field experience
• Mechanical or construction knowledge is preferred
• Must meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing is required

Pay Range

USD $21.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
