Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This entry-level role involves field observations, sampling and testing of construction materials, and preparing daily logs of inspections and results.

Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and advancement. Starting wage is $19.00/hour with no experience required. Benefits include paid time off, ESOP opportunities, and company-paid training.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle and valid driver\'s license.
• Must meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Able to lift/move up to 60–80 pounds.
• Able to work outdoors in all climates.
• Attention to detail and quality with safety focus.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Use of tablet and MS Office.
• Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools.
• With training, read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules, and manuals.
• Hiring preference for ACI, NICET, WACEL certifications.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Preparing accurate daily logs of inspections and test results.
• Communicate project progress with PM or Operations Manager.
