Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician/Certified Special Inspector. You will perform field observations, sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials, and prepare daily inspection logs.

The starting rate is $25.00/hr with no experience required, and up to $30+/hr based on experience and certifications. A $400 sign-on bonus is offered, along with paid training, PTO, and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work and valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift/move up to 60–80 pounds.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Basic math skills and ability to read plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Prepare accurate daily logs of inspections and test results.
• Communicate progress with Project Manager on a daily basis.
