Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Technician for our Chantilly, VA office. No experience required to start at $18.00/hr; experienced technicians will be paid commensurate with expertise.

You will perform field testing on soil, aggregates, concrete, and more, and maintain detailed daily logs. Responsibilities include field observations, sampling, testing, and communicating progress to the PM/Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in field sampling or testing is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 60-80 pounds and work outdoors in varying climates.
• Proficient in basic math and measurement tools; MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations at local jobsites.
• Sample and test construction materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, etc.).
• Prepare daily logs detailing inspections and results.
• Communicate progress with Project Manager or Operations Manager.
