Job summary

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. The Field Technician will support day-to-day operation, setup, and maintenance of Construction Automation systems on the project site, enabling digital tools and workflows used by construction and project teams.

You will assist with system setup, validation, and mobile deployment, troubleshoot routine issues, and collaborate with field personnel to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience.
• 3+ years of experience supporting construction technology, digital systems, or site-based IT/automation environments.
• Hands-on experience with construction or field technology platforms, including document management systems, reporting tools, mobile applications, or similar.
• Comfortable working in an active construction or industrial site environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine system, application, and device issues in a field environment.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel, supervisors, and contractors.
• Ability to communicate technical issues in clear, practical terms to end users.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Construction Automation systems in the field.
• Assist with system setup, configuration, and basic administration, including reports, user access, and security roles.
• Support deployment and setup of Construction Automation applications on mobile devices.
• Support the processing, quality checks, and publishing of visualization data collected from drones, mobile devices, and other site data capture sources.
• Monitor system usage and data quality and address routine issues impacting daily operations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of software, device, and connectivity issues and escalates complex issues to the rest of the team.
• Provide day-to-day user support, including onboarding, basic training, and issue resolution for project teams and contractors.
• Work directly with field personnel to resolve issues and ensure effective use of Construction Automation tools.
• Follow approved Construction Automation standards, configurations, and procedures.
• Document common issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
