Job summary

GHD is seeking a Field Technician Sr. to support remediation and O&M projects in Guadalupe or Bakersfield, CA. You will perform field sampling, data collection, inspections, and coordinate with contractors to ensure site activities run smoothly.

You bring 5+ years of environmental field experience, strong electrical/mechanical maintenance skills, and a valid driver’s license. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus, especially in environmental fields.
• Minimum 5+ years of environmental field experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation and O&M systems, including mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and vapor per standards.
• Collect detailed field notes and communicate findings clearly.
• Inspect sites and monitor system performance, collecting data as required.
• Manage equipment and chemical inventories; maintain orderly job sites.
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers; oversee contractor activities.
• Provide support and oversight to other field activities as needed.
• Coordinate with project team, local stakeholders, and client.
• Assist with additional field tasks as requested by the supervisor.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies on site.

Job Description Our US Central Environmental business is looking for a Field Technician (CA) - Sr. to join their field team in Guadalupe or Bakersfield, CA. As a technician, you will support a variety of remediation and O&M projects throughout the region. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of soil and groundwater remediation systems, which may include: Mechanical, and electrical, troubleshooting and maintenance
• Data collection
• Site inspections and system performance sampling
• Equipment and chemical Inventory
• Jobsite housekeeping
• Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc. in accordance with applicable standards
• Collection of detailed field notes and excellent oral communication
• Coordination with contractors and service providers and oversight of contractor activities
• Provide support and oversight to other field activities as needed
• Coordination with project team, local stakeholders, and client

What you will bring to the team:

• High School Diploma/GED required; College degree is a plus especially if in environmental related field (e.g., geology, wastewater operations, environmental science)
• 5 plus years of environmental field experience
• Must possess good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Ability and willingness to perform field work
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record
• OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus

Salary Range: $66,000 - $110,000 based on experience and location.

• 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
• Paid time off - Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
• Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
