Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a Field Technician C to support the Customer Field Service department from the Orange, CT area. You will assist in developing simple to moderate overhead line designs, prepare work orders, and update data in SAP, GIS and related systems while learning field practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have at least 30 accredited college credits toward an Associates Science Degree.
• Must enroll in AS degree within 90 days and progress toward degree.
• Within 3 years, an AS degree must be obtained.
• 10 years of distribution/line experience can substitute for the degree.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Learn electric codes and work practices (NESC, NEC, OSHA, UI standards).
• Provide support to Customer Field Service and prepare smaller designs & work orders.
• Gather customer requirements and prepare project documents (drawings, material lists, service orders).
• Act as customer advocate and communicate with management and field staff.
• Assist in storm restoration or emergency assignments as required.
• Maintain data accuracy in work management systems (GIS, SAP, ALDEN).
