Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking a field technical service representative to support the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada food packaging customers.

The role requires traveling to customer facilities to troubleshoot processes, investigate product quality issues, and conduct trials in a food manufacturing environment, serving as the primary technical contact and liaison among customers, Crown Sales, R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Food Science, Engineering, Packaging or a related discipline.
• 2+ years in a packaging manufacturing environment, food production or a similar industry.
• Experience interfacing with customers in a technical capacity: field testing, qualification trials, claims management, etc.
• Experience with double seaming technology, various food canning equipment, and troubleshooting is highly preferred.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written, with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team or independently.
• Well organized with good time management and strong PC skills (Word/Outlook/Excel).
• Commitment to ongoing personal development; Six Sigma knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide problem-solving leadership on technical and quality matters for food cans and end performance.
• Manage the technical interface between Crown Food Division and customers.
• Support customers in technical aspects including current packages and new development.
• Develop and manage technical meetings with customers to discuss ideas, issues, and solutions.
• Interact with customers and internal manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing to plan strategies for current and new customers.
• Travel up to 80% to service customer needs.
