Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Technical Consultant for the Rapid Diagnostics, Infectious Disease division. This field-based remote role is based in Cleveland/Columbus, Ohio with up to 75% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Medical Technologist or Registered Nurse in state of residence.
• Minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a Medical Technologist or RN in relevant setting.
• At least 1 year of related implementation or Point‑of‑Care Testing experience.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to teach complex subjects to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical and clinical training on Abbott Infectious Disease products including instruments and visual read tests.
• Provide on-site customer assistance for verification studies in compliance with CLIA/CAP/COLA/TJC.
• Create consultative relationships with customers on topic areas such as product utilization and workflows.
• Lead POC Link connectivity efforts and ensure seamless integration for new and existing customers.
• Act as technical liaison during POC Link evaluations and align implementation with IT infrastructure.
• Educate customers on clinical value of POC Link and workflow improvements.
• Present professional educational programs to medical and laboratory staff.
