Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Technical Consultant for a field-based role in the Columbus/Cleveland area, Ohio, with 50–75% travel. You will support accounts by providing on-site technical and clinical training for Abbott Infectious Disease products and guide implementation for POC Link connectivity.

The candidate should have a BS in Medical Technology or nursing, be a registered technologist or nurse, and have 3+ years’ clinical lab or infectious disease experience with at least 1 year in

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Medical Technologist or Registered Nurse in state of residence.
• Minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a Medical Technologist or RN in relevant clinical settings.
• At least 1 year of implementation or Point-of-Care Testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical and clinical training on Abbott Infectious Disease products and related instruments/tests.
• Perform verification studies in compliance with CLIA, CAP, COLA, and TJC requirements.
• Lead POC Link connectivity efforts and coordinate with customers for seamless integration.
• Act as technical liaison during POC Link evaluations and monitor performance for optimization.
• Educate customers on workflow efficiency and the clinical value of POC Link.
• Support sales with in-servicing and continuing education in key accounts.
