Electric Power Systems in Salt Lake City seeks a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increasing independence. You will collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to troubleshoot from schematics, document results, and ensure strict safety and quality standards on every job site.

Qualifications

• Requires pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel out of town.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to travel for field assignments as needed.
• 2–4 years of relevant industry experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Adhere to all safety policies and PPE usage in substation environments.
• Actively participate in safety training, meetings, and job briefings; identify hazards and contribute to mitigation.
• Support and promote a strong safety culture through hazard reporting and safe work practices.
• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance, including repair, replacement, and adjustment of electrical components.
• Execute functional checks and assist with commissioning activities to verify equipment readiness for service.
• Accurately document testing, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with company and project requirements.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities efficiently and safely.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure readiness and compliance with standards.
