Job Description

This is a remote position that requires outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader in environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services, is seeking Environmental Field Technicians to support field activities for our Florida Operations.

Position Expectations:

• Execute, supervise, and document field activities related to environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction, including:
• Perform soil and groundwater sampling; assist with remedial system operation & maintenance.
• Supervise contractors during subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment & piping installations.
• Oversee contractors and provide environmental support during UST system upgrades.
• Perform labor and construction duties as required.
• Maintain equipment calibration logs.
• Oversee monitoring well abandonment activities.
• Record detailed field notes for each site.
• Handle warehouse and maintenance duties.
• Perform general repairs.
• Follow GES policies and procedures for engineering, construction, and O&M.
• Adhere to GES Health & Safety Standards during all field activities.

Skills & Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-4+ years of related field experience; mechanical aptitude required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred; training will be provided if needed. Certification is required to perform duties.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule supporting project needs and outdoor conditions.
• Weekend availability, including daytime and overnight shifts, with short-term travel.
• Willingness to travel within Florida on short notice.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork up to 70% of the time.
• Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, team player.
