Job summary

Datawatch Systems seeks an entry-level Technician I in Bethesda, MD. You'll receive on-the-job and classroom training on installation techniques, building and fire code, as well as access control and CCTV fundamentals.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7 am–3 pm, with a starting wage of $20/hour plus benefits and PTO. You’ll undergo drug screening and background checks; CJIS/DACS licensing requirements apply as you grow with the company.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid state driver’s license with safe driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Electronics/electrical training desirable but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and climb stairs/ladders with weight.
• Reliable transportation to DC/MD/VA sites and pre-employment screening.
• Ability to obtain MD electronic security license and FBI fingerprints.

You will learn the proper installation techniques, building and fire code, as well as access control and CCTV fundamentals. Responsibilities

What you will Learn

• Proper and safe use of hand tools, power tools, communication, and diagnostic devices
• Strong communication skills/customer service focus
• How to read floor plans and electrical drawings
• Various areas of Building, Fire, and Life Safety code

Work Environment

• Open floor plans with ambient noise and activity consistent with office or call center work
• Active construction sites often without HVAC
• Confined spaces (closets, basements, etc.)
• The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, tools, and vehicle
• May be required to travel based on business needs

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Eligible to obtain a valid state driver's license and maintain a safe driving record
• High school diploma (GED equivalent) required
• Technical/Trade/Vocational schoolwork or experience in electronics/electrical (Desirable, but not required)
• Able to lift and carry up to forty-five pounds - climbing stairs and ladders while carrying weight, i.e., cabling wire
• Reliable transportation to work sites in and around the DC/MD/VA areas
• Must be willing to participate in and pass the company's pre-employment screening process including a background investigation, motor vehicle check and drug screening.
• Obtain and maintain a 35E Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and MD electronic security license including FBI fingerprinting
• Reliable and punctual with strong attendance history
