Job summary

TriMedia Environmental & Engineering Services, LLC seeks a Survey Technician/Field Surveyor for a long-term project in the Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area. Initially you’ll work from a consistent site, performing hands-on field surveying, collecting data, operating instrumentation, and locating utilities.

The role involves travel for future Midwest projects, outdoor work, and adherence to safety standards. Prior surveying experience and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required; a relevant degree

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on surveying experience.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS, total stations, or other surveying equipment preferred.
• Experience with construction staking, field layout, as-built surveys, or similar field surveying work preferred.
• Utility-locating, GIS, mapping, construction support, or infrastructure experience is a plus.
• Degree or technical training in Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, Geomatics, Construction Technology, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and terrain.
• Willingness to travel for future projects throughout the Midwest after the initial assignment.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and safety.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction staking, field layout, and as-built surveys.
• Collect accurate field data using GPS/GNSS and surveying instruments.
• Locate underground utilities using electronic locating equipment.
• Operate and maintain survey, locating, and field-data equipment.
• Review completed fieldwork for accuracy and quality.
• Communicate with project managers, field crews, clients, and project partners.
• Work safely around construction sites, utilities, and heavy equipment.
• Follow company, client, and project-specific safety requirements.
