Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking field surveying personnel in Morehead, KY. The role involves supporting field crews with boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys in varied outdoor environments.

You will operate total stations, GNSS receivers, scanners, and surveying software, while maintaining precise field notes and coordinating with a Crew Chief. Travel and outdoor work are essential aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet MVR standards.
• Previous industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of land surveying practices and basic survey types, computations, and field operations.
• Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use land survey instruments to support field crews for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
• Assist in completing field surveys under supervision; communicate progress and address problems.
• Operate surveying equipment including total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios, 3D scanners, levels.
• Collect geospatial data with survey software and perform survey computations.
• Read and interpret maps and plans; maintain neat field notes with accurate measurements.
