Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry in Keizer, Oregon, is seeking a Survey Field Technician to work with project surveyors, field crews, engineers, and managers on a range of public and private projects. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid OR or WA driver’s license, and a willingness to start at 6:00 a.m. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a valid OR or WA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a urinalysis drug screening.
• Willingness to start work at 6:00 a.m. and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform physically demanding work including packing heavy survey equipment, pounding hubs, and clearing brush.
• Receive hands‑on training in the use of survey instruments and data collection tools.
• Operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, GN22 Receivers, and TSC5 Data collectors.
• Support data collection efforts using unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
• Follow all safety protocols including AKS standards and site regulations.
• Work in adverse weather and difficult terrain.
• Occasionally travel out of town/overnight when needed.
