You will establish grade, working lines, and control points, providing accurate data to the site team to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications. The role requires experience with Trimble hardware, total station, and data collection, plus the ability to read plans, manage deadlines, and work safely in changing conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in field engineering/layout.
• Good communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for heavy civil work.
• Familiarity with Trimble equipment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Builds Trimble and CAS models.
• Provides horizontal and vertical control using Trimble Total Station.
• Sets up grade control and verifies grades for drainage.
• Establishes control lines from control points.
• Computes surface area layout for construction activities.
• Gathers data to compute cross-sections.
• Assists in calculation of monthly progress quantities.
• Provides output from survey system to compute surveyed quantities.
• Maintains surveying equipment and suggests upgrades.
• Layout for excavation using Trimble GPS rover and Total Station.
• Checks materials installation against plans and provides topo information.
• Assists with final base prep layout before paving.
• Promotes safety and adheres to policies.
