Job summary

South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Field Surveyor to perform routine survey operations using total station, GPS, data collectors, and levels. You will establish elevations, boundaries, and ground controls, and support photogrammetric mapping and design activities.

Responsibilities include staking rights-of-way, reducing field notes, preparing control records, and assisting in plotting property lines under the supervision of a SC-registered land surveyor.

Qualifications

• Requires two years of related surveying experience or equivalent.
• Must be able to establish elevations, ground controls, and property boundaries.
• Proficient in field data collection, note taking and traverses.

Responsibilities

• Establish elevations of benchmarks, ground controls and profiles.
• Stake project right-of-way lines and locate property boundaries.
• Reduce field notes and compute traverses; assist with data for transmittal to HQ.
