South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a field survey technician to perform basic survey operations, establish elevations, and set control points using total stations, GPS, and data collectors in support of highway projects.

Under the guidance of a licensed SC land surveyor, you will collect field data, edit survey notes, assist with right-of-way staking, and help ensure accuracy before transmittal to headquarters.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma and 2 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with surveying using GPS and total station.
• Ability to perform field measurements and data reduction.
• Must comply with SC Standards Manual for land surveying.

Aufgaben

• Perform basic survey operations to establish elevations of benchmarks and control.
• Set up total station and level, collect data with Carlson field PC.
• Survey ground control for aerial mapping; stake right of way lines.
• Maintain field notes and transmittal to Headquarters.
• Assist with courthouse and field research to locate property lines.
• Under supervision of a SC registered land surveyor, locate and document property lines.
• Operate safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Assist in establishing coordinates and elevations for photogrammetric mapping.
