Job summary

Southeastern Surveying and Mapping Corp. in Leesburg, FL is seeking a Survey Rod Person to support field surveying tasks, equipment setup, and data collection. The role requires accuracy, reliability, and adherence to safety standards on diverse sites.

You will load equipment, set up backsights/foresights, and perform measurements with a tape, while assisting crews as needed. A high school diploma is required and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain badges and certifications necessary to enter sites (eg MOT, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD).

Responsibilities

• Load/unload survey equipment to/from work vehicle.
• Set up backsights and foresights.
• Clear lines and establish points, tape, chain and level for field surveys.
• Take measurements with a tape measure.
• Maintain and operate survey-grade instruments.
• Wear PPE and follow safety guidelines.
• Potentially assist on Utility projects.
• Light office duties as needed.
